FALL 2020 GSMT NEWS Dear Friend of The General Society of Mechanics & Tradesmen, We hope you and your family are well. ... As we prepare to launch our Fall 2020 Public Programming, we would like to share this special issue of the GSMT News. As a result of so many programs being postponed this Spring, our Managing Editor Penny Speckter, who herself celebrated 100 years this past March, decided to make this a special issue celebrating the history of The General Society of Mechanics & Tradesmen and marking the 200th Anniversary of The General Society Library. The issue also highlights our Mechanics Institute and nearly 200-year old Lecture Series. We hope you enjoy this issue of the GSMT News and we look forward to seeing you once again at The General Society of Mechanics & Tradesmen. Warmest regards, Victoria A. Dengel Executive Director
