Today, after a year, we finally get to open at 50% indoor capacity. While we are very fortunate to still be here, others are not. Lives lost. Many of our small restaurants and businesses gone. Our community has been forever devastated. Many of those that remain could really use a morale boost. Please choose to support your local community and small businesses first. We continue to be barred from indoor dining. The possibility of, and the re-opening at 25% capacity will not save many of the remaining restaurants. The small business industry in NYC needs SUBSTANTIAL funding help. Barstool Fund is saving some, but needs more to save more. Please, do your research. Learn about the issue. Hello and Happy New Year to everyone. A lot has happened since my last update. Your donations have been and continue to be distributed to our staff, for which I relay to you their eternal gratefulness. Once again we were forced to shut down indoor dining in December after a brief 25% occupancy allowance. As a result, forced layoffs keep us now with a minimal crew. I want to thank our neighbors that continue to visit Gene’s, ordering delivery and take-out, and even dining... out here in some inhospitable temperatures. I also would like to thank you all that have donated and supported our business through this extremely difficult time. I am thankful to everyone who continues to donate as well.
