Happy new year! ‘Tis the season for resolutions and goal setting but consider this a gentle reminder that 1) you are worthy and loved just as you are and 2) the best way to inspire positive growth is by positive reinforcement and self kindness! Do you have any goals or aspirations for the coming year? Share ‘em below! (Please no mention of intentional weight loss or diets.) I have a self critical and ambitious personality and setting resolutions or goals for myself is a tric...ky balance. What I’ve learned is that creating intentions is a much more positive way to encourage my own growth and be a positive influence on the world. One of my intentions for 2021 is to make daily time for quiet, whether that’s through journaling, meditation or just a long bath with no music or distractions. I’m also looking to get more cardio into my weeks because I love the endorphins and the stress relief! This doesn’t mean I’ll do a sweaty cardio workout every day, but I’ll try to mix up my every day Pilates routine to include some aerobics, hiking or swimming now and then too. *IMPORTANT STUDIO UPDATES* What a year, huh? We've been offering classes via Zoom since March 16 and are thrilled they've been so well attended! Since August, we've offered masked and socially distant small group classes indoors safely. For the rest of December, in person classes will be more limited again. ZOOM classes continue with 4 -6 classes each week streaming from wherever you are! ... We know not all our members are able to attend virtual workouts and 100% understand! In a society that's obsessed with image, we've been conditioned to believe that health always *looks* a certain way. The truth is so much more complex! The diet and fitness industries have spent billions of dollars trying to convince us that health and happiness depend on dropping pounds, getting "shredded" abs or eating some foods but not others. But you deserve to be happy right now, in the body that's gotten you this far in life! You deserve to pursue health in whatever ...way that looks like for you, whether you are able bodied, disabled, fat, thin, young, old or somewhere in between any of these. Health isn't a one size fits all. "Fitness" isn't a one size fits all. Move your body. Eat food. Hydrate. Rest.

What kinds of videos and posts would you like to see from us this month? We're working to create more online classes and mini-workouts you can do at home as the weather turns colder!
As Covid cases are on the rise in our community, it's time for some reminders of existing policies and a few more stringent safety measures. The studio will remain OPEN for in-person instruction at this time and you can keep us open by. . . 1. Handling your own equipment during private Reformer sessions so Sarah can keep a full 8 feet of distance during the entirety of the session. This is a great opportunity to get to know the Reformers better too! :) 2. Sanitizing your ha...nds before entering the studio. 3. Wearing a mask the entire time you are inside the building, including private lessons. 4. Staying home if you have recently traveled, been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or are feeling sick. We have a Zoom option for all group classes and private lessons. 5. Continuing to stay at least 6 feet apart from others at all times. We will continue to get through this together!

Movement is an essential component in taking care of the body. Your movement doesn't have to always (or even ever) look like sweating it out at the gym! Do you love playing on the floor with your kids, taking hikes, riding your bike or gardening? DO it! Can't get enough weight lifting, sweaty Zumba classes or barre? DO it! Feeling worn out from yesterday's workout and need a day with just some gentle stretching, a 5 minute stroll and maybe a long nap? DO it! No two days are... the same. If you're struggling to be active, try focusing on how movement makes you feel instead of whether it is the "right workout" or enough. And if you're ready for some formal exercise that's FUN, mindful and adaptable for your unique and precious body, we're here in the studio to help.
