The Central Library of Rochester and Monroe County is hosting a free workshop on Self-Care and Mental Health, Tuesday, May 11th at 1 PM via Zoom. Self-Care is an over-used and often misunderstood word a concept that is being monetized, tracked, and turned into just one more thing to do. It is often seen as a selfish act that takes away from others or from other more important things. Sometimes we think it is a once and done thing. Self-care is not selfish, it is not one... more to-do, and it is an ongoing practice for good mental health. Barb Klein, from Inspired Possibility will share the way she looks at self-care, help you to see why it is the foundation of everything else, and guide you to begin developing a new relationship of care with yourself. You will see what is getting in the way of self-care and identify some practices or strategies you can begin trying out right away. You will leave with some simple next steps and a commitment to honor yourself, moment by moment. Barb is a life coach, retreat leader, meditation instructor, and the author of 111 Invitations: Step into the Full Richness of Life. She is the founder of Inspired Possibility: https://www.inspiredpossibility.com/ Barb is also a team member at https://mompower.org/, an organization whose mission it is to help moms with addicted children find strength, wisdom, perspective, sanity, and hope. Registration for this workshop is required in order to receive the invite to the Zoom meeting. Visit the link below to get started! https://calendar.libraryweb.org/event/7533628
