Liberty Street. Feel like a kid with a new pair of sneakers. When the lights and the greenery go in.. Boom baby. Can you say pedestrian friendly? I knew that you could.... We are not re-opened yet. Hunkered down just now. Looking forward to seeing everyone again soon.

This is what a neighborhood being re-born looks like. I make no maternity jokes. It is, nonetheless, a messy business.

Throughout the US, and elsewhere, different manners of extending eateries out into the streetscape have evolved. Parklets are just one. Streateries have perhaps a larger footprint. I like the night-lit Piazza style. Each local neighborhood/street should have its own character. Watching Utica's oldest neighborhood being re-born seems a good time to consider alternatives. Only outdoor seating currently in close proximity to Chez Gerb is air conditioned ..in a cab..attached to a bucket. Just don't spill beer on the controls like last time; we'll never get it all out. Seriously. Green space. Shhhstuff..... Can you see it? Blows me away. Gonna be beautiful. Gerber's is not yet re-opened. We look forward to seeing our customers again in the near future.
