Essential Functions and Duties Administer instructions to shipping department employees directly from General Manager (GM), Plant Manager (PM) and Production Manager. (PM) Shipping outgoing goods to the appropriate recipient, this includes coordinating courier and LTL shipments of all goods within the plant... Collaborate with other area managers to complete and coordinate the shipment of different production orders Work with Production Manager and area managers to prioritize and carry out daily shipping task in line with customer deadlines Enforce company policies for area subordinates Participate in improving operational systems, processes and policies in support of the organization’s goals-specifically, support better management reporting, information flow and management Place orders with various vendors to maintain supply stock within the shipping area Assist with HR and Production Manager in correctly staffing the shipping and receiving department Mitigate minor employee grievances in accordance with human resources and company policies Participate in daily communication meeting with Production Manager and other area managers Supervise and coach subordinate employees daily Help to drive down operational and payroll cost by adhering to company reporting policies Participate in production meetings Identify, recommend and implement changes to improve productivity, reduce cost and scrap Work effectively and relate well with others Approve or deny any subordinate employees time-off request in accordance with the current production schedule All other work-related duties assigned by Production Manager See more
