SUNY Cortland Institute for Civic Engagement 09.06.2021

Please join us for a virtual celebration of the 2020 Leadership in Civic Engagement Award Winners. We particularly want to honor the many volunteers on the SUNY Cortland Campus who were so dedicated to making the campus as accommodating and supportive as possible while still adhering to Covid-19 restrictions and requirements. Although there are far too many to allow us to honor every one of them individually, we want to acknowledge each and every one of them for their outstanding and selfless dedication of time and effort to support the college, and in particular, the students, during the challenges of the pandemic. Please watch for the link to our virtual celebration of these people and all the LCE award winners. #LCEVirtualAwards

Congratulations Kyle Reinhardt and the entire Quarantine Support Team on your Leadership in Civic Engagement Award. The crew below managed everything from moving students in to West Campus quarantine, to delivering their meals, responding to their calls and questions, keeping their rooms cleaned and stocked with essentials, to delivering packages and prescriptions, to responding to anxious parents' concerns. The team was dedicated to doing everything they could to make studen...ts more comfortable while ensuring SUNY Cortland adhered to strict health department guidelines to contend with Covid-19. There are MANY other volunteers on campus who helped make this process work and for a list acknowledging all those who served on the Covid Testing and Quarantine Support Teams, please watch for the link to our Final Virtual Awards Recognition next week and join us in celebrating all our awardees. #LCEVirtualAwards See more

Congratulations Emily Quinlan on your Leadership in Civic Engagement Award! Emily has worked tirelessly on the Quarantine Support Team, leading contact tracing, and recruiting and managing volunteers. There have been many challenges to meeting the needs of students in quarantine and Emily has developed solutions and put processes in place to ensure things run smoothly and students have all the resources and support they need. Emily wanted to acknowledge others who worked so h...ard in fall 2020 to develop a manageable system for meeting the challenges of contending with Covid on campus; Mark DePaull, Rob Binnall, MaryKate Morris, Nicole Edwards, and Rob Sager who all displayed significant support to students who were required to stay in Q&I during the fall semester and Zach Newswanger, Associate Vice President for Facilities Management, who has shown invaluable leadership throughout. #LCEVirtualAwards See more
