Enjoy the colors of summer with fresh salad
Salads seem like such a great and refreshing summer food, and it is! Just don't get fooled by stores and restaurants. Dressings can hide lots of unhealthy fats and calories. You can always ask them to substitute with a light olive oil dressing, some spices and lemon or lime. Or look in the comment section for some healthy alternatives
Happy 4th! A few tips to add to your party and help you stay on track! 1. Go for the small plate - it is ok to go for a second helping, but this will ensure each one is a little smaller... 2. Enjoy the meat - savor each bite but only have one serving 3. Add veggies to your grill - they are delicious, add color, flavor, tons of health benefits and are fewer calories than meat and corn 4. Use avocado - a healthy fat - to add creaminess to your dressing 5. Go light on booze - create a spritzer with club soda and vodka - add fresh fruit or a splash of fruit juice for flavor - it is the perfect summer drink! 6. Skip the cake - make a red,white and blue fruit salad for dessert - even if you garnish with whipped cream it is still a much healthier dessert Party on and have fun!
