The Alzheimer's Association of Central New York is hosting an online meeting on "Alzheimer's & Caregiving in the Black/African American Community" on October 8, 2020 from 9 am to 11 am. African Americans are twice as likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease as whites, and their increased risk of heart problems and diabetes makes them more susceptible to developing dementia. Our experts will discuss the warning signs of Alzheimer’s and other dementias and what to do if they hav...e noticed changes in themselves or others. We will also cover how COVID-19 has impacted those living with dementia and ways to provide quality care in the face of the pandemic. Call 800-272-3900 to register and to receive information on how to connect with the meeting. Everyone who registers and attends will receive a complimentary Alzheimer’s Association reusable face mask, while supplies last.
