This February, we’re celebrating Black History Month by recognizing influential Black teachers who changed the course of education in America. Fanny Jackson Cop...pin was the country’s first Black principal. She was also fiercely passionate about higher education for women and utilized her role to expand the school's curriculum and develop opportunities to showcase the work of her female students. Today, Coppin State University is named in her honor. #bhm #blackhistorymonth #educators #education #history #fannyjacksoncoppin #coppin

In honor of Black History Month, we're highlighting influential Black educators who changed the course of education in America. This week, our focus is on Kell...y Miller, the first Black man to attend John Hopkins University and the first Black mathematics graduate student. In his later position as dean of Howard University’s College of Arts and Sciences, he modernized the curriculum and tripled enrollment in his first four years. How, you ask? Visit our blog to find out and learn how you can give back to an organization that embodies the spirit of these educators and their legacy. https://privateprep.com//4-black-educators-who-changed-hi/ #bhm #blackhistorymonth #educators #education #history #kellymiller #math #mathematics #howarduniversity #johnhopkins

Looking for engaging activities for your child during winter break? Check out The Coding Space https://www.thecodingspace.com we are on a mission to help kids develop critical thinking skills, confidence, and self-expression through learning to code. Whether kids are new to coding or already proficient in programming languages like JavaScript and Python, our interactive, virtual coding classes and camps are fun for everyone. Our experienced instructors balance screen time usi...ng our signature 4:1 student-to-teacher ratio with hands-on activities, games, and opportunities to create and explore, even in your own home. Choose from 1.5 or 3-hour options on Monday-Wednesday, Dec. 21-23 and Dec. 28-30 between 10:00am-1:00pm. Our 1.5-hour program will include a warm-up activity and project-based coding. In our 3-hour program, kids will also participate in a hands-on activity, such as The Coding Space Cooks or Scavenger Hunt, and choose from STEM electives like 3D modeling, pixel art, or level design. Pick the best option for you and your child! Ages 6+. We recommend the 1.5-hour option for ages 6 & 7.
