Meet our ENSEMBLE: Tara Sheena is a performer, dancer, writer, and producer based in Brooklyn, NY. As a performer, she is engaged on upcoming projects with choreographers Ivy Baldwin, Catherine Galasso, and Nadia Tykulsker. She has collaborated on recent performance work with Ivy Baldwin, Kirsten Schnittker, Molly Poerstel, Isabel Lewis, and Nadia Tykulsker, among others. She has also appeared in music videos for Overcoats and Charlene Kaye, as well as the upcoming feature fi...lm Shirley, choreographed by Faye Driscoll and directed by Josephine Decker. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, she graduated from the University of Michigan in 2011 with a BFA in Dance and BA in English. Meet our ENSEMBLE: Sara Galassini is a New York based actor, dancer-choreographer, singer songwriter, director and facilitator. Her most recent original work One in Themselves was created in collaboration with Sophie Bortolussi for La MaMa' s 55th season. With award winning composer, musician Yukio Tsuji, Galassini has conceived, composed and performed 4 original works: Waves of all times, Origin: a Performance art Installation, Unmeasurable Picture and REFLECT-I-ON. Galas...sini is the co-founder and principal performer of UNGUARDED (www.generationoutside.com) and the Sara Galas Band (www.saragalasband.org); a member of La MaMa Great Jones Rep. Company and of The Trojan Women Project (http://thetrojanwomenproject.org/). She has performed in the late Ellen Stewart's productions of The Monk and The Hangman’s Daughter, Seven, Romeo and Juliet, Seven against Thebes, Herakles Via Phaedra,Mythos Oedipus, Dionysus Filius Dei, Fragments of Seven, and the acclaimed production of Trojan Women by Andrei Serban and Elizabeth Swados. Meet our ENSEMBLE: Kim Savarino is a Brooklyn-based artist. She joined Third Rail Projects in 2014 and currently performs leading roles in their Bessie award winning immersive experience Then She Fell. Upcoming projects include West Side Story Broadway’s development lab, choreographed by Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker and directed by Ivo Van Hove, and a collaboration with Netherlands-based upright bassist Annick Odom. In addition to artistic work, she supports ...artists as the Program Associate at the MAP Fund and co-organizes an ongoing monthly gathering of Asian diaspora activists, artists, and advocates. Savarino studied dance at Florida State University and the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, and makes dance films at @kasavvy. She was born in Southern California and raised in West Virginia. Meet our ENSEMBLE: Kelly Bartnik is a NY-based choreographer, performer, director, teacher and producer. She was an original cast member of both the Boston and NY productions of Sleep No More, originating the role of Bald Witch. She has also had the pleasure of performing with Optika Moderna, Witness Relocation, Cora Dance, Melissa Briggs Dance, South Brooklyn Shakespeare, Woodshed Collective, Switch N Play, and Shelter Theatre Group among others. Her own work has been pres...ented at the Brooklyn Arts Exchange/BAX, BRIC Studio, Dance Theater Workshop (formerly), Dixon Place, Joyce Soho, Dogtown Dance Theater, James Madison University, Long Island University, Arena Stage and The Publick Playhouse. She currently teaches Movement for Actors at NYU's Playwright's Horizons, Advanced Contemporary at Mark Morris Dance Center, and Composition at Queens College. She previously taught Advanced Movement at Sarah Lawrence College and was from the director of BAXCo, the teen repertory dance company at the Brooklyn Arts. She holds her MFA in Choreography & Visual Arts from Wilson College and is a founding member of GK1 Productions, a video production company specializing in dance films. She is currently mounting and directing a new long-term Immersive series entitled HERE and most recently performed as an original cast in the new Immersive experience, Waking La Llorona, presented by the Old Globe Theater and La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego. This spring she will be joining the cast of a newly devised work with The Pack Theater in NYC as well as performing in Independent Study at The Tank. Meet our WOMEN IN BLACK: Kaylin Johnson was born and raised in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. She moved to New york at the start of the year. So far she has been a work study at Mark Morris dance Center, completed the summer session at broadway dance center, shared her choreography at shared space at MMDC and danced in a Opera at Brooklyn Opera Works. Back in Minnesota, she attended the University of Minnesota. In May 2017, Kaylin graduated from the University of Minnesota with a ...Bachelor of Fine art in dance. At her time at the University, she has worked with Michel Kouakou, Joanie Smith, Brian Brooks, Carl Flink, Toni Pierce-sands, Justin Jones, as well as other choreographers and professors. She also represented the dance program at the American College Dance Association Regional Festival February in Duluth. Kaylin’s favorite pastimes are wearing miss-matched socks and dancing down the frozen food aisle at target.
