Saving up for my next home renovation plan! Who’s with me?

Glens Falls Masters 24.04.2021

In response to the inquiries I get, the Glens Falls YMCA seemingly has no plans to start up the Masters program. We have tried to make the case that Masters pays for itself and would alleviate some of the pressure to sign up for a lane, since Masters could safely swim two per lane. The Y’s response has been to terminate the Masters coaching staff. Nonetheless, we will maintain this Page for the swimming community and try to identify swimming opportunities as they arise. You can join and follow Adirondack Masters Swimming for regional news. You can reach me (Bob Singer) at [email protected]

Glens Falls Masters 30.12.2020

We have started a new challenge to swim around all the islands of Lake George. There are 140 mapped islands, although some references count 170. We are up to 35.... If you need a focus for your swimming next year give it a try. This track from yesterday shows us going around Sagamore, Picnic, Horicon, and Little Horicon in the Mother Bunch Group. See more

Caroline Block's monumental, unprecedented double-crossing of Lake George is finished. 103.6km/64.4 miles in 52 hours, 24 minutes (unofficial time). Observed by... Elaine Howley and Jeannie Zappe, with Kellie Latimer as crew chief, Caroline spent over two full days swimming cheerfully through persistently windy conditions and bitingly cold night air. This is was a historic swim in several respects: - 3rd-longest freshwater swim ever - new world distance record for a multi-segment lake swim - eclipsing Vicki Keith's 1987 double Lake Ontario - 7th-longest swim by duration (non-current assisted) We stand in awe and respect. Congratulations, Caroline!

Nice to see Charlotte getting some much-deserved attention.
