[Summit Recap] During the Technology panel of our GCC Global Summit on March 19th, our panelists Graham Webster (Editor of the DigiChina Project at Stanford University Cyber Policy Center) and Peter A. Petri (Nonresident Senior Fellow in the John L. Thornton China Center of The Brookings Institution) shared ways in which companies can navigate tech relations under political tension, and talked about a shared future in cyberspace. Peter gave a thorough and insightful presentat...ion on the relationship between technology and geopolitics, and how they will change in the future. He stated that technology is crucial to both China and U.S.'s economic power, and explained how technology relates to political situation and conflicts in the two countries. Graham believed that the current U.S.-China relationship is in a moment of change, and we have come to a time with lots of new developments, new technological products, and unprecedented levels of technological interdependence. [Summit Recap] During the Trade panel of our GCC Global Summit on March 12th, Tin Pei Ling (Member of Parliament in Singapore), Alexander Capri (Former Partner and Managing Director at KPMG Asia), Andrew Delios (Vice Dean of the NUS Business School), Masahiro Kawai (CEO of The Economic Research Institute of Northeast Asia), and Rebecca Fatima Sta Maria (Executive Director at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) shared their insights on the future of APAC’s trade and economy.... Tin Pei Ling gave an presentation on the current and future APEC economic performance, and shared her thoughts on potential reasons for its economic growth. Rebecca stated that the vision of APAC area should be to build an open, dynamic, resilient and peaceful Asia-pacific community by 2040. Masahiro specifically talked about Japan’s approach to trade and its response to the Biden administration, as well as to China in terms of trade and investment policy.
