What to do when receiving any call that is suspicious: 1 hang up. 2 if you don't do #1 because you are unsure if they are someone you hired. Then never ever turn on computer or go to any website person on phone is trying to get you to go to. This will allow them access to your computer. So go back to #1 3 If for some reason you still have not hung up, ask for business and person's name, address and phone number. They will not give this information. And will try to get you ...to go on computer. They'll them you need the information in writing through the post office on official letterhead with company name address and phone number. Then hang up. If they are legit they will not need your address. So give them no information and hang up. 4- if you need help with your computer there are plenty of legitimate businesses that can do this. I can. If it is something that is beyond my skill set I know people I trust that can do the work. Do not trust any call that says you have a contract for computer maintenance, or is selling computer help or saying that your computer is causing issues. Hang up the phone. See more
