South Hills Country Club

Hey everyone don't forget winter time is the perfect time to improve your golf game. Sounds strange, but improving indoors is actually proven to help your game outdoors. South hills has a simulator using skytrak you can practice or play. We are also happy to announce if you really want to improve your game, lessons can be given by PGA professional Kyle Benish. Just to be clear, South Hills is not promoting a holiday party of any kind. We are only promoting members to pay their membership before December 6th at 3pm to have their name entered into a drawing to receive a 2021 season cart pass. Any current member already gets a early bird discount, so this is just a bonus incentive. Stay safe out there!

Just a heads up Friday after Thanksgiving we will be open. Golf will be weather dependent and the pro shop will be open with food being served. Also on December 6th we usually have our annual Tom and Jerry party. Due to covid we will not be having a big party, but more of a food to go service provided by our board. A lot of members usually pay there membership that day, so we will still be having the pro shop open with food to go. As an extra incentive to pay your membership early, anyone paid before December 6th at 3pm will be entered into a drawing to win a season cart pass at South Hills. Anyone who has already paid there 2021 membership will automatically be entered into the drawing. South hills will be following all of the covid related guidelines.

Don't forget this Saturday we are having a trunk or treat 5pm to 7pm. We will be following all cdc guidelines. We should be having around 10 volunteers to decorate cars and hand out candy. Thank you for the support!

Good Morning everyone! We had some great weather this summer and thank you for coming out to golf and enjoy a nice safe outdoor activity. The weather is starting to turn for some cooler temperatures and sooner than later the dreaded "S" word will be in the air. South hills will be running an indoor simulator league starting December 7th and running until February 22nd (Off week for Christmas) Contact Eric Trusso at 716-487-1471 for details to sign up now. Last year we had 22 two man teams and we play alternate shot. Hey everyone! We will be hosting a Trunk or Treat at South Hills on Halloween from 5 - 7! We are in need of for a few more people to decorate their cars and pass out candy! During these unusual times, we want our children to still be able to trick or treat! Someone has graciously donated hot chocolate for the children to enjoy. Hot dogs will also be for sale. We will be following CDC guidelines. Bags of candy will be appreciated. Please call the golf course to sign up if you are interested in decorating your car! Hey golfers this is no joke. The county executive just called me and said we can use carts once again. One person per cart, same as before. Thank you see you soon.

Hey everyone. I hope all my golfers are doing well. Before I get into this post, I just want to say it's not meant to be a knock towards PA courses. I know they have not been open since this whole mess started. But think about this, now PA will be open and will have carts unlike us here in New York. Their courses will be packed and busy. If you don't have an early tee time, you won't get a cart unless that course has 100 plus carts available. So basically I'm saying if yo...u can walk consider coming to South Hills or any local golf course that will need your support. I guess no one in power realizes these two things. First is golfers love to golf they will travel across borders to golf no matter what. Second is I would say roughly 85 to 90% of golfers ride, even younger golfers with no health issues. I would even guess based on numbers that roughly 25% of all my regular golfers will be golfing with this walking only policy. I won't even get into the possibility of this whole no cart business being discrimination against people who simply can't walk even 9 holes. So as a final thought you don't want people in general traveling county to county let alone state to state correct? Now you will have golfers traveling state to state. So again if you can walk, it's going to be a beautiful weekend and I doubt with no carts we won't be that busy. So come out and enjoy a well maintained golf course and stay safe everyone. See more

Just had word from our health department, no carts has been clarified again no carts. This is horrible news I am sure but stay strong everyone.

Hello can someone in a position of power answer my question? Some golf courses are still saying they are allowing golf carts because chautauqua county health department has no new in hand updates on this matter. Last they heard was carts is ok one per person yada yada yada. So I'm sorry I understand that this is serious and people are dying from this virus but to be completely honest this is starting to really wear on all of us golf course operators. No one in power has a clear answer. Who do we trust the health department? The county executive? Senators? Governor? Thank you sorry for the rant but this is getting ridiculous..

April 27th, apparently its walking only no carts golfers. Will someone please let me know when this is over, carts. No carts, carts, no carts I just dont even know what to post anymore

Good morning golfers, hope everyone is healthy and doing good. As of Saturday golfers can return to the links in New York state but with no carts and strict social distancing measures. I have decided to do a daily post until this is some what over with(when ever that is??) To try and keep golfers informed with some small updates. Day 1 post: Yes we are still open for golf walking only, come out and enjoy the course and get away from the stress of Covid-19. We have doing our best to keep up with all the course maintenance and the course is in terrific shape for April. I hope everyone knows I am not taking this matter lightly as this is a very serious situation. Everyone stay safe and remember "This too shall pass"

Ok so disregard what I just posted. I just received a call from the county executive and we can open. We must follow strict rules. Walking only, no gatherings of any kind you must golf and go home, and no access of any kind to the clubhouse. I wont be open until 930am this morning as I just found this out. Dear friends, I have just received notice that due to the ongoing pandemic unfortunately golf courses have been deemed non essential. Meaning we will be closed effective immediately. For the record in case people ask NO YOU CANNOT WALK ON THE GOLF COURSE IT WILL BE A $10,000 FINE. I would like to thank everyone who has supported us during this time and for respecting the states and county guidelines. Let's all hope that the April 29th date is true and we can be back to golfing as soon as we are told it is allowable by law.

Attention all golfers. Yesterday someone posted that we are open, and yes that is true. But I have to follow strict guidelines by the CDC and our local county government. Please be advised the statements made towards us were false, and quite hurtful. Also remember we are a small business trying to get by as I'm sure many businesses will be after all this is said and done. I feel very badly for businesses that must remain closed and hope they are healthy and will make it ...through this. I have read a lot of the comments, and quite frankly I will do my best to not really respond to them personally anymore. I am not taking this pandemic lightly. I hope everyone knows here at South Hills C.C we are doing our best we clean and sanitize everything repeatedly. All golf courses in our county are open, and just like me they are working a lot, and doing more to keep golfers safe. I also have personal relationships with all the local golf course owners and we stay in touch communicating almost daily to see how we are all doing things, and staying healthy.
