People with Down syndrome still face stereotypes and myths, but they’ve shown time and again that the condition is just one part of who they are and doesn’t define them or limit their abilities. That’s why it’s so important that during Down Syndrome Awareness Month and all year long, we help spread the message of love, acceptance, inclusion, and respect.

Congratulations Pennsylvania! And all those who have contributed to being named a Special Olympics Healthy Community. This is a significant honor and we thank you for your dedicated work that is advancing inclusive health for people with intellectual disabilities. #InclusiveHealth
Every day we are making progress advancing inclusive health and making life better for people around the world. We’re proud to partner with the dedicated people at Special Olympics , Lions Clubs International and so many others to achieve these results.
Being a practitioner in the field working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and older adults, I’ve noticed there is a gap in the research. The more research we have related to physical activity that shows what they’re doing is really working, the more chance there is for funding that will directly impact their quality of life. #InclusiveHealth

Continud success in all your outstanding work!
Getting a flu vaccine during 2020-2021 is more important than ever because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Flu vaccination is especially important for people who are at high risk for getting the flu, many of whom are also at high risk for COVID-19. Special Olympics is sharing flu resources and education materials provided by the Centers For Disease Control (CDC) that you can use and share. So check it out! #FightFlu #InclusiveHealth
