OK sorry, it's another (albeit humorous) tale of the NYC restaurant industry. Guess we need to get used to it, cause I haven't heard anyone yet begin to talk about how to make it any better.

Haven’t posted in quite some time but wanted to share... While the holiday was going full steam in our house, my mind did often wander back to sweet memories of Thanksgivings passed at GOOD. Thanks to all who emailed me their own memories & good wishes this past week. It was a very very lovely addition to the holiday!

PIG-NAMING Day has arrived! Our beloved red pig mascot, talisman, friend has gone nameless for the past 19 years. But now, customer submissions to our pig-naming contest have been tallied. The field was narrowed to the two strongest contenders and our staff has voted on a winner.... Today we’re excited to announce that, heretofore he (turns out that, yes, it’s a he) shall be named GORDO! We think GORDO is a perfect fit for our slightly pudgy friend, whose origins actually are New Mexican and who has been stationed at the front door since the days of Campo, the pan-Latino concept that preceded Good. In addition, many on our staff use the term GORDO daily as an affectionate jab when addressing one another. Congratulations to our big winner, Gerard Francois, who is welcome to claim his happy hour prize anytime! Thanks to all who participated. Some really creative names were submitted. But we hope you’ll all say hi to GORDO the next time you’re in for a meal.
