Dear faithful people of Good Shepherd Church: God´s peace to all of you. On behalf of our synod and our Church´s council, there is a moral imperative to follow the emergency directives to limit ourselves and unnecessarily put ourselves at risk as the virus spreads. Thus we will be limiting our face to face gatherings (which includes services) for the next couple of weeks. I will be posting times, around the fence on the church and electronically, when the sanctuary of the chu...rch will be open for prayer and we will decontaminate the space as necessary. I will also send an electronic link for live streaming and make myself available, by phone or virtually, to those who need to speak with me. I commend to you the following prayer that is found on page 76 of the Evangelical Lutheran Worship under the heading Time of conflict, crisis, disaster. O God, where hearts are fearful and constricted, grant courage and hope. Where anxiety is infectious, grant peace and reassurance. Where impossibilities close every door and window, grant imagination and resistance. Where distrust twists our thinking, grant healing and illumination. Where spirits are daunted and weak, grant soaring wings and strengthened dreams. We ask this in the named of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen. Let us continue to pray for those who are most vulnerable, those in our jails, nursing homes, our elderly and those who are being forced to work despite being sick. Love and solidarity, Rev. I had the relief of being able to offer someone else that could, but I like to be hands-on, myself, when it comes to things. I am very particular about how things are done. We are here to help people, bury their loved ones, give them time to grieve and offer them advice, so when any part of this process is not possible it is distressing.
