We are so sad to cancel our 2020 race, but we feel that this is the right decision. All participants have the option to defer to our 2021 race, receive a refund (minus processing fees), or donate your entry fee to support local running teams and the parks who are also in a tough place this year. Hi Runners! By now you should have received an email explaining our decision to push back the race date due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Our new race date is Saturday September 5th, 2020. GIH entrants and those considering running with us this year, we've made the necessary decision to push the event back and have selected September 5, 2020 as the fallback date. Due to the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, prices for the 2020 Gorges Ithaca Half Marathon will not increase until May 1st (opposed to April 1st as previously scheduled). We are continuing to monitor the situation in our community, and will post any race updates as they become available. Stay safe and wash your hands!

To all those entered or hoping to run the 2020 Gorges Ithaca Half Marathon, at present we are still planning to run the event in June. We are also monitoring the quick escalation of the realities associated with COVID in our communities and NYS. We're hopeful, that with three months still out from the event, we'll have cleared the very real risks and concerns that today's statewide ban reflects and is hoping to mitigate, prior to June. We'll continue to monitor local, state, and federal recommendations and requirements, and modify planning for, the format of, and running of the event accordingly. Our thoughts are with all of you, your families, and communities, as we ride and run this out together. And, in the interim, can everyone stop buying up all of the toilet paper in Ithaca?
