Domestic violence is much more than physical confrontation. Long after the marks of physical abuse disappear, the psychological trauma continues for most victims. It may not be readily noticeable to those of us who support them, but it can easily be triggered by words, phrases, situations, and people...and it causes them tremendous pain inside and most certainly interferes with their day to day functioning. If you know someone who is a victim of domestic violence, please broaden your awareness of these triggers so that we can continue to support them in the best way possible.
