ANNOUNCEMENT We would like to welcome our newest member of staff, Sean Streb. Sean is originally from Ithaca, NY. Sean played at and captained Tompkins Cortland Community College before transferring to SUNY Cortland where he finished his college career. He then played semi-professionally for two years for Greater Binghamton FC in the NPSL.... Sean then moved into coaching where he spent three years coaching for the Manhattan Soccer Club in New York City. He has coached varsity high school teams both at Riverdale County School and Trevor Day School. Sean will now become the new assistant men’s soccer coach this fall at SUNY Cortland. We are excited to welcome Sean to our staff for the 2020/21 season. #WelcomeSean #GPSSYR

ANNOUNCEMENT We are delighted to announce Steve Axtell will be joining our coaching staff for the 20/21 season and beyond. Steve will coach our 2003/02 Boys, along with being the Director of College Recruitment for GPS NY. In this role Steve will provide guidance and education for players and families through the college process. Steve will provide handbooks for players of various age groups on how to navaigate the world of college recruitment, along with presentations ...and much more. Steve Axtell enters his ninth season as Cortland’s men’s soccer head coach in 2020 with an overall record of 108-42-11. Axtell has led the Red Dragons to becoming a DIII National Powerhouse, being just one of eleven schools in the country to go to four NCAA Division III tournaments over the past five seasons and three trips to the "Sweet 16" during that stretch. Axtell was named the head coach in June 2012 after serving as interim head coach for five months and as an assistant coach for the Red Dragons in 2010 & 2011. Axtell holds a Premier Diploma and an Advanced National Goalkeeping Diploma from the NSCAA with Distinguished Pass. He currently serves as an Associate National Staff member for the United Soccer coaches, both on the field player and goalkeeper coaching courses throughout the Northeast. He was most recently the Director of Coaching for Syracuse Development Academy and has coached numerous youth teams in Central/Southern Tier, NY over the past 15 years. He has served as the Empire State Games Scholastic Head Coach, a Goalkeeper Coach for ODP-Region 1, and was the Director of OnePlus Soccer Academy. #WelcomeSteve #GPSSYR
