The Grace Outreach Breakfast is 1 month away! Join us virtually on May 11 and support our work serving low-income women in the South Bronx. Your ticket purchase or sponsorship will directly impact the 250+ women who will enroll in our programs this year and take their first steps towards financial security. Our honoree will be @MikaBrzezinski, co-host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe and Founder of Know Your Value. Register at https://buff.ly/3vHHuAK
In our College Prep class this week, instructor Liz opened a discussion with students about what academic success looks like for them, what challenges they foresee in college, and what resources they hope to find. She then described specific campus resources available and how to access them. So many students have overcome obstacles to get to this point and continue to juggle competing responsibilities while pursuing higher education. In the next weeks, Grace Outreach will work with them one-on-one to help them reach their goals. They’ve done incredible work so far! #MovingWomen
Pandemic job losses have disproportionately hurt low-paid service workers who tend to be poor and people of color. Read more about what it's been like in the West Farms neighborhood of the #Bronx @nytimes: https://buff.ly/39YakUG
COVID-19 has highlighted that some people are able to live healthier lives and have better access to health services than others due to the conditions in which they live and work. The community of women we serve has been disproportionately impacted by the economic inequalities in the Bronx and the effects of COVID-19. On #WorldHealthDay, let’s commit to building a fairer, healthier world!

Grace Outreach’s HSE social studies class covers a wide variety of topics required for the TASC, New York’s High School Equivalency exam. In this recent class, instructor Zeki worked through practice TASC questions with students and emphasized the importance of critical reading. Questions ranged from history to economics to politics. We applaud our students for tackling preparing for this exam!
