Our local eatery is open again!
Congratulations are in order for Brian Blum for earning his commercial license yesterday!
Our Wash-and-Wax and Brunch event has been rescheduled!
That's our boy!! Jake and 13 Victor!
There are a few advantages to this whole Covid situation. ;)
There will be no meeting in April. Be safe!
Assuming the world goes back to normal by then, we've schedule our annual Wash-and-Wax event. RSVP to be kept informed of developments.
Congratulations are in order for Phil Bahor who passed his PPL checkride! Good job!
The club had its best year in hours-flown since 2010: 796.9 hours were flown across the 3 aircraft! Leading the utilization standings roster was Brian Blum at 137 hours, followed by Sebastian Wuerth at 96.9 hours. Both were working on their instrument ratings during the year. Happy New Year, Grasshoppers! Safe flying in 2020!
Sean Murphy & Brian Blum can attest that 60R is back in service! They took her on her welcome-back flight around the neighborhood and to lunch at 44N. She's got a fresh annual and new tires - sign her out and welcome her back to the fleet!
Grasshoppers were well-represented at tonight's FAA Safety Seminar about ATC in the Hudson Valley. Attendees included Brian Blum, Mark Dunn, Bert Love, Kevin Kelley, and Joe Hayes. Thanks for hosting it, Heather!
Apparently the new restaurant is open at Sky Acres, too.
If anyone has an upcoming appointment that will bring a DPE to POU, would you please let Brian Blum know? He needs 15-minutes with a DPE to process an IACRA for AGI & IGI.
AOPA ASI Safety Seminar in Albany on October 15th. Anyone wanna share a flight?
Congrats on your IR, Sebastian!

Why "Grasshopper" Flying Club? Legend has it that our club was named for the L-3 Grasshopper, which our founder is reputed to have either owned or flown during the war. If you have more information about early club history, please share! (Photo credit: Bert Love @ KBAF)
Do you have friends or family who might be interested in taking a pinch-hitter class?
Brian Blum & Bert Love took 38E down the Skyline Route and back last night. It was a beautiful night for a flight - cloudless and only a light wind!

Anybody been by the airport today? Did the snow melt off the planes, or would they need to be dug out for flying tomorrow?
Just curious: What's the farthest anyone has ever traveled in a club plane?
Congrats, Jeff Tamboia, for completing your practical test today and earning your private pilot license!
Bert Love and Brian Blum flew over Old Orchard Airpark (2NK9), doing instrument practice flights today. It's that little grass strip alongside I-87 northbound near Modena.
Name this ski resort enroute to HFD.
There will be a "Celebration of Life" service for Bill at 11:00 AM on March 23 at the First Lutheran Church on Mill Street in Poughkeepsie.

Brian created an "event" for our upcoming club meeting. Please click to RSVP there to help promote the club through social media.
