Finishing has begun....sanding sealer, pour filler, 3 rounds of lacquer so far.....the Tasmanian blackwood is awesome....bridge is just sitting on the top to get measurements....won't be glued until all the finishing is done.

Progress on the Weissenborn style acoustic lap steel...body routed for binding and purfling...ivoroid binding and black/white/black purfling glued on...pearl fingerboard position markers inlaid.....tomorrow body will be sanded...fingerboard glued on...get it ready for the spray booth....then make the ebony bridge.

Update on weissenborn style acoustic lap steel. Bracing for top and back laid out and braces made and glued.....sides bent....sound hole rosette inlaid....peghead made with Tasmanian blackwood headcap....braces still need final shaping....working on getting the sides completed so back and top can be glued....fingerboard and bridge still need to be made.

Next build underway......Weissenborn style holliw neck acoustic lap steel....top, back and sides are Tasmanian blackwood (a relative of Hawaiian Koa)....fingerboard will be ebony....rosette is figured maple with black/white/black purfling.....more photos to come.

Kona/resonator lap steel is done. This is the first of this style. Acoustic lap steel guitars will definitely be one of our specialties. This one is an all mahogany body with rosewood binding, figured myrtle rosettes around the sound holes, ebony fingerboard/curly maple inlaid frets and ebony head cap. 25" scale. Inlay is sterling silver wire, abalone and mother of pearl.
