Jaleah Jackson has notified her neighbors of the importance of voting. How about you? #ChalkTheVote
Greetings Parents, Family, and Friends, This time of year helps us refocus on all the good in our lives. And there is SO much good when it comes to God. Because God is good! is what we want PRESCHOOLERS to learn this month. God is good and we have A LOT we can thank Him for. For our ELEMENTARY students, we will be taking time to... consider everything God has done for us: the world He made, the promises He’s kept, the new life He offers through Jesus. When we remember all of that, we can always be thankful. For our TEENS we will continue to focus on Love. The expression of our relationship with God is necessarily connected to our relationship with others. God commands us to love one another as God loves us. Our lessons will focus on Godly Love Among Believers. Join the fun and study this month on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays for GAC Virtual Sunday School.
Beginning tomorrow parents and children across the country will engage in a get out the vote campaign. Kids can't vote ...but they can help turn out voters! A fun and friendly way for the whole family to get involved with the election is through #ChalkTheVote. We want our children to be civic and community minded so I am proposing our children get involved. This is something children of all ages and their family and friends can participate in. Here's how the children and t...heir families can participate: 1 - Write and draw chalk messages that will inspire your community to vote, 2 - Take a picture or video of their artwork and messenger them [email protected] 3 - We will post the videos and pictures on our Facebook page. The campaign begins October 18th and will end on November 3rd. We look forward to seeing your messages! Please encourage your students to participate.

Our preschoolers continues our theme for the month of October "Sing in the Rain" Today's Sunday School lesson is "God takes care of me.". MOSES IN THE BASKET EXODUS 1:222:10... MEMORY VERSE: God is with you wherever you go. JOSHUA 1:9, NLT We see a mother trust that God’s got it as she puts her baby, Moses, in a basket and hides him among the reeds on a river bank. We can only imagine all of the conflicting emotions she must have been feeling, but her trust in God was bigger! Prayer: Dear God, when bad things happen, help us to trust that You are always with us and will help us. You have the power to do amazing things that we could never even think of, like the way You helped baby Moses and his mommy. We love You, God. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Continuing our monthly theme: Off Stage: Drop the Act! Today's lesson for our elementary school children is "Say Anything, No Secrets With God" 1 John 1:9. John writes, But God is faithful and fair. If we confess our sins, he will forgive our sins. He will forgive every wrong thing we have done. He will make us pure, (NIrV). You don’t have to keep secrets from God. God loves you and is ready to forgive you. ... Bottom Line: Being truthful with God keeps you close to Him. While we often think of this in terms of confession and forgiveness, we can also be truthful with God with our feelings and questions. God doesn’t look down on us because of our doubts and confusion, even our mistakes. God created us, loves us, and wants to hear from us. God is ready to forgive and we can trust God no matter what. Discussion questions: Can you think of a time when you messed up? Admit it to God and ask His forgiveness. Be honest. And if you’ve hurt someone else, talk to God about what you could do to make it right. We all make mistakes. And when we do, sometimes we might try to hide it. Or we might try to make up for it by doing other good things. We hope that if we do enough RIGHT things, we can hide that wrong thing we’ve done. Who sees everything we do? Why should we talk to Him about it? What will He do when we confess to Him? Prayer for this week: Ask God to help you be honest with Him and others this week, knowing that it keeps us closer to the people around us when we choose to be truthful.
Continuing this month's theme: Love for One Another. Today's Sunday School lesson for our teens is "Loving Those Who Don't Love You Back". The big idea: Love Your Enemies. The scripture focus is Luke 6:27-36, an excerpt of Jesus' Sermon on the Plain. The aim of the lesson is:... 1 - understand Jesus' teaching about what it means to love one's enemies; 2 - reflect on times when they felt hatred for others and were hated by others; and 3 - engage in ways to love their enemies. In depth: 1. God's people are called to live a distinctive lifestyle (Luke 6:27-30) Question: Does failing to love the unlovable indicate a lack of love for God? Discuss. 2. Jesus' strategy (Luke 6:31) Question: What makes our understanding of this commandment difficult? 3. The total unselfishness of Love. Luke 6:32-36) Question: How can we keep the principle of God's mercy in the front of our minds? Application: Follow the Spirit - What does God want you to do? Have a blessed week and look for ways to practice RADICAL LOVE.

Good morning Preschool parents! We closed out the month of September discussing Obedience. Our scripture of focus is John 6:38 "I didn't come from heaven to do what I want! I came to do what the Father wants me to do." God wants our children to obey Him just as He obeyed His heavenly Father. God wants our children to obey their parents and the adults they have placed in their lives. Parents please explain to your child that you and families and our Heavenly Father and Jesu...s Christ watch over and protect us. They will teach them what to do to be safe and happy. It is important that they learn to obey them. Questions for discussion: How do you feel when you obey your parents? How do your parents feel when you obey them? Have a blessed week and don't forget to join us every Tuesday at 4 pm.
Good morning Sunday School parents! October we will focus each week on the theme "Integrity". Our memory verse for the month is "Anyone who walks without blame walks safely. But anyone who takes a crooked path will get caught." Proverbs 10:9 NIrV... We kick off this series in Daniel 1. When Daniel and his friends were captured by Babylonia officials, no one would have known or possibly even cared if they continued following God’s laws in captivity. However, in their hearts, they knew what was right. They decided to stay true to their faith, and God rewarded them for it. Bottom Line: Be truthful with your whole life. Integrity means doing what is right, even when no one is looking. When we’re truthful with our whole life, we’re not just honest with our words. We also make sure our actions in front of people or by ourselves match the life God wants us to live. Prayer focus: Ask God to help you do what is right so you can live a life of integrity. Thank Him for guiding you and for always doing what He says He will do.
Hi Parents! It’s October and this month we have two exciting themes for our children. Our pre-schoolers will discuss how no matter the rainstorms we face in life we can trust that God’s got it! For our elementary school students, they will be encouraged to show integrity by being truthful in whatever they say and do. ... Please have your children join us this month on our virtual Sunday School sessions. For more information see the Allen Cathedral website.
