Saddle Rock fifth graders participated in a scavenger hunt to find clues about this year's fifth-grade year-end event. When all the students made it out to the courtyard, music teacher Mr. Lasky helped Principal Ms. Bradley reveal that there will be a fifth-grade carnival in June! In lieu of a fifth-grade trip, students will get to play carnival games and activities right on the school grounds. #DiscoverGreatness

Ms. Leone's and Mr. Livingston's classes were outside to investigate their world and make connections to the various science topics they've learned about so far during this school year. In 6th grade science, we're always investigating, always discovering, and ALWAYS learning!
The Best Pals Club at North High organized a Chalk the Walk activity to encourage kindness and celebrate inclusivity in support of World Down Syndrome Day. ACE students, teachers, and peer mentors used colorful chalk to decorate parking spaces in the school’s lower parking lot with positive messages and images. Members of the Champions Club also visited from neighboring North Middle to participate in the activity. World Down Syndrome Day is observed annually on March 21 to spread awareness and celebrate the differences that make us all unique. The Best Pals event was supported by classroom discussions about kindness, respect, and inclusion. #DiscoverGreatness

This year’s Folk Dance Festival at Parkville is going virtual! Last week, music teacher Mrs. Golub and Coach Smith led Kindergartners through the final rehearsals in preparation for their upcoming performances. Students have been practicing their dance moves in a socially-distanced manner in school, and they’re excited to perform for their families at home! Over the Spring Recess, students will record the dance moves with their grown-ups at home and submit their videos on Seesaw. Parkville classes will watch the recorded performances in school after the break. This year’s dances include Gahu from Ghana, an Australian Stick Dance, Fjäskern from Sweden, and Te Ve Orez from Israel. #DiscoverGreatness
