This 8’ diameter sphere is made up of an inner frame of black locust wood and thousands of pieces of branches. Come by to check it out! Charlie Baker’s work is a combination of his rural and urban upbringing. He is inspired by the juxtaposition of the natural and industrial. Baker... decided to combine his passion for nature with his love of art and design by pursuing a career in creative building. He studied landscape design at the New York Botanical Garden and honed his skills in stone masonry and carpentry at Ash Stone & Garden. He then went on to work as a designer and project manager for Plant Specialists, where he specialized in high-end rooftop and terrace gardens. From there, Charlie founded Baker Structures, a design/build company that specializes in creating magical outdoor moments as well as furniture and lighting. Recently, he was commissioned by Hermes and Ralph Lauren to create window displays for their flagship boutiques on Madison Avenue. See more
