Do you have/know a child who is in 3rd-8th grade who wants to save our planet? Do they want to learn more about our carbon footprints and the atmosphere? Maybe they're a science lover? We have an awesome challenge for them!... For one hour, two of our very own Green Teens are set to educate youth in 3rd 8th grade about our carbon footprints! Your child will take part in solving a real-world agriculture challenge through the 2021 4-H Ag Innovators Experience (4-H AIE) Curbing Our Carbon Appetite Challenge. Participating youth will learn about ways they can help reduce their carbon footprints along with other activities they can do at home with their families and friends to benefit their community. These meetings will be held on Google Classroom on Mondays, Thursdays, or Fridays from 4-5 PM and it's free. If you are interested, please reach out to us either on here or email Chelsea at [email protected]

Hello Green Teen Community! We are looking out the window at the mounds of snow and then looking even farther past them to the Spring... We're hiring for the Spring Crew!... If you or anyone you know is interested- please pass this along. We will be working from the end of March until the beginning of June about 3 afternoons a week. (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays with an occasional Saturday.) They are due February 24th by 5 pm. Please let me know if you have any questions. In the meantime, have fun out there in the snow! https://docs.google.com//1FAIpQLSey9kcWWZUMN3sXDG/viewform

With this year finally coming to a close, we are still going strong! For the rest of this month, our Fall crew will be meeting up through Zoom to read Spirit Run: A 6,000-Mile Marathon Through North America's Stolen Land. It is an autobiography about a young man named Noé Álvarez. He is the son of working-class Mexican immigrants and flees the life of labor in fruit-packing plants to run in a Native American marathon from Canada to Guatemala. We just started, but we are already hooked on it! Thank you Corinne Lesko from Dutchess County Department of Community and Family Services, for coming to us and offering this great opportunity to start conversation.
