A year ago today I had sad news to share with you all, to which many of you responded with kind words, asking to stay informed of what was next to come. Well, I am proud to announce a new project: Remy’s Local. In collaboration with the wonderful friends I have been fortunate to make over these years, @remyslocal offers a curated selection of local produce and pantry staples updated weekly delivered straight to you. (Contactless, of course). ... While of course this is a wonderful opportunity for communities to access the bounty of our local farmers and purveyors, I would like to also emphasize a key component of the Remy’s Local mission: that is to support undocumented kitchen workers - the undisputed backbone of the restaurant industry and farming community alike - to serve them as they have served us with dedication and love for generations. I have been touched by the generosity of our early customers, who have offered donations to feed these families in need. These are tumultuous and uncertain times, especially for those who work in hospitality. Remy’s Local is my humble answer to our current times - bringing my community together to support small farms, cook good food, and sustain our local economy. 'Wickson' cider from @hudsonvalleyfarmhousecider is killer. Made from a combination of Esopus Spitzenburg and Newtown Pippin heirloom apples, this cider is dry, tart, fresh and delicious.
