Good news everyone! We're getting our 2% raise which had previously been frozen!

Last night, Governor Cuomo took our bill to eliminate graduate worker fees out of the budget. While this writing this post feels a bit like defeat, we want to share with you, our members, all that we managed to accomplish! GSEU members across NYS sent in over 500 emails to their elected representatives!... Our fee elimination bill was included in both the senate and the assembly 1-house budget! SUNY Chancellor Malatras voiced his support for our movement! This fight is far from over, GSEU and CWA are not giving up on our graduate workers. Dr. Karen Jones, VP of DEI at Binghamton University has replied to our petition letter calling for policy change regarding the rights of instructors when faced with vulgar and racist comments in the classroom. As expected, there is nothing helpful here. While DEI does offer some fantastic workshops, the only people who attend are those who truly believe in building an anti-racist society. ... Additionally, I do not believe administration has been "meeting consistently" with student leaders across campus, unless ignoring their demands counts as a meeting. We will continue to fight this fight.
