How Much Water Does It Take To Fill My Pool? Things are simple if you are starting with a new pool. Just read your manual & chances are that it will tell you straight out. You can use the formulas below to calculate how much water you need so you can decide if you want to try to pull it from your well or order pool water delivery. If you have city water, calculate how much the water will cost you in water& sewage fees. It may be better letting H2O Express deliver you a load o...f clean pool water. When using these formulas remember to convert all your measurements to feet. If your pool is down 18 inches, use 1.5 feet in the formula for the depth. RECTANGULAR OR SQUARE POOL: Length x Width x Average Depth x 7.5 = Total gallons needed CIRCULAR POOLS: Diameter x Diameter x Average Depth x 5.9 = Total gallons needed OVAL POOLS: Length x Width x Average Depth x 5.9 = Total gallons When filling an entire pool that is sloped, you can get the Average Depth like this: Shallow End Depth + Deep End Depth Divided by 2 = Average Depth For partial fills on all pools just convert the number of inches of water you need to bring the level up to full and convert it into feet and then insert your number in place of the Average Depth. If you are too busy or just not too good at math, just call H2O Express & we will be glad to tell you how much pool water you need to be delivered. You will find our staff Fast & Friendly & our prices are competitive. Call today for your custom quote 518-791-2484. See more
