We here at Halsted-Patrick Funeral Home are praying today for all of the families and friends who lost loved ones on this tragic day. Nineteen years ago on September 11, 2001, four planes were hijacked. The hijackers then deliberately flew three of the planes into two important buildings, the Pentagon in Washington DC and the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York. The fourth crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The loss of life and damage that these hijackings caused form the biggest act of terrorism ever on United States soil. Nearly 3000 people died in the attacks and the impact was immense.
LeRoy A. Teeter, 73, passed away after a brief illness on Monday, August 17, 2020, at Rochester General Hospital. For details on arrangements please see below:
Grieving the loss of a loved one may be especially challenging during the COVID 19 pandemic. One of the reasons for increased stress may include being less able to receive in-person support from friends and family, potentially leading to a greater sense of isolation and loneliness. Staying connected to others is very important if you are grieving and socially isolated. Often we don't feel like talking to others after losing a loved one so try to book times for phone calls and video chats. Arrange these conversations as appointments you must keep. Agree on times with people in advance so you are more likely to follow through.
The loss of a child is the most stressful and inconsolable of losses to deal with. It violates the natural order of things. As parents, we may feel we are solely responsible for the well-being of our children and we may feel like we have failed our child. The month of July is designated as Bereaved Parents Awareness Month, a time for supporting friends and loved ones who’ve experienced the stress and loss of a child.

SUNDAY IS FLAG DAY.The flag is folded to represent the original thirteen colonies of the United States. When the flag is completely folded and tucked in, it takes on the appearance of a cocked hat, representing the soldiers who served under George Washington, the sailors and marines who served under John Paul Jones, and the many who have followed in their footsteps.
