UPDATE: The Hamilton Dog Park will open to the public in the spring. The grass is not fully established yet to tolerate usage/dog waste. As we push through the coming winter together, let’s all be safe and hug our pets - 2021 will be here soon!
Special thanks to the Village of Hamilton, InnerVision Crystals, the Jennifer Noll Memorial Fund, the Partnership for Community Development, the CNYCF, donors, volunteers, and friends!
Tomorrow is our Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the dog park! Join us for some cider and donuts as we present the park to the village of Hamilton. 11:00-11:30am
As we end our week, TGIF has special meaning for supporters of the Hamilton dog park THANK GOODNESS IT'S FINISHED! Thanks to many generous area supporters, we are finally able to celebrate raising enough funding to allow the park to open! We are incredibly grateful for your help. A major donation from the Jennifer E. Noll Memorial Charitable Fund took us across the finish line last week, and special thanks goes to the stewards of that fund. Also, in the last few months, In...nerVision Crystals stepped up as our sponsor, the Community Foundation of CNY issued us a grant, and Hamilton DPW provided endless work and support! (Special shoutout to Jim Stokes, who is rumored to have gone above and beyond, using his own equipment and free time to complete projects at the park.) It may sound cliche, but this park truly would not have been possible without the help of every single person who contributed. For that, we thank you! RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY While the park can't officially open until the grass is well-established, we wanted to gather together while the weather is still glorious for a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, October 24 at 11:00 AM. We invite you to stop by, see the progress at the park, and be a part of this happy day for dogs. (See details below or attached.) FUTURE FUNDRAISING We hope we'll see you at the ribbon cutting, but if not, know you haven't heard the last of us! Our fundraising will resume soon to raise money for benches and maintenance costs at the park. Want to honor a beloved pet with their name on a park bench so you can think of them every time you bring your furry friends to frolic? You will soon have that opportunity . . . stay tuned. Again, we want to thank you all for your support through the long process of establishing this dog park. We look forward to gathering together as dog lovers in our beautiful village soon. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Sincerely, Your dog park volunteers
Fencing going in - should be complete next week
Dog people, we need your help!! We still need to raise more than $3,000 to pay for the services being rendered to finalize the dog park! Please make a gift via the PCD link below and share, share, share! We are hoping to have a ribbon cutting in October and open the park for use as soon as the grass grows! Don't forget to include a note with your gift that the donation is for the dog park:... https://hamiltonpcd.org/donate/hamiltonbusinessfund/ See more
A nice preview in the Oneida Dispatch: https://www.oneidadispatch.com//article_c3699904-fc83-11ea
So much progress is being made and we are so close to having the dog park to a place where it can open (once the grass grows)! TWO IMPORTANT UPDATES: 1. We need to raise a little over $3,000 for the final projects being completed. We provided a link last week that stopped working. A new link to donate is here: https://hamiltonpcd.org/donate/hamiltonbusinessfund/ It says Small Business Fund, just add a note that the donation is for the Hamilton Dog Park. 2. A HUGE shoutout to Jim Stokes for all the work he is doing! The entire PCD has been incredibly helpful, but Jim has gone above and beyond, using his own equipment and his own time to complete important projects at the dog park. If you see Jim, tell him thank you for all of his work in helping us! THANK YOU, JIM! You are a true friend to the dogs of Hamilton and the surrounding areas!
Grass seed Did you know that the village DPW, Colgate, and Hamilton FD all played a huge role in this project? This has been a total team effort, so please thank your local friends who are pitching in!
We still need your support to ensure the dog park can open! Many supporters have asked for a link through which they could make a donation from home. You can do this through the Partnership for Community Development Paypal link at the bottom of this post. (Or you can go to the PCD office at 11 Payne Street to drop off your contribution.) Today, the DPW will be doing seeding, soil prep, and mulching at the new dog park. ... This project has been in the works for a long time and we appreciate your support in helping to bring it across the finish line. At this point, we just have a few more dollars to raise and to wait for the grass to grow!! https://hamiltonpcd.org/donate/hamiltonbusinessfund/ Please make a note that this donation is for the dog park! Thank you for your support!
