Today is the last day for eviction moratorium Landlords can file for eviction against non-paying tenants starting Monday, March 1, 2021. However, tenants affected by the pandemic hardship can file extension for 2 months with proof which must be submitted to court to clear. According to city marshals, the eviction can proceed after Easter once filed by March 1 unless tenants have good cause. The NYS governor’s office confirmed the eviction will not be extended to September after federal level made the announcement which has not been approved.
