The Hudson River Greenway is a 12.9 mile long bike path, one of the busiest in the country. It runs the entire west side of Manhattan from the Battery to Inwood along the Hudson River. Happy Flag Day. Fraunces Tavern, first built as a private residence in 1719. In 1762, the home was converted into a popular pub called the Queen’s Head. It is most famous as the site of George Washington’s Farewell speech to his officer corps following the American Revolution and it hosts one of the city’s oldest parades. The route begins up at City Hall then down Broadway finishing at Broad Street and Pearl. The Sons of the Revolution have owned the property since 1904 saving the building from demolition to make way for a parking lot!
