Mather House at Grant Station built about 1861 by Francis Mather operated first by Francis Mather, then next by his son Oliver Mather a few years. Then by another son George A. Mather and his wife, Rhoda Mather until about 1905 when it was taken over by Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Rider. It was closed about 1912 and disassembled about 1919 by H. On July 1, 1904 the name of Grant Station/Broken Straw was changed. The Post Office Dept. and Railroad asked the citizens to select a new name to avoid confusion.
