Hey all you Farm Dog people! HACNY is offering a two run/two judge Farm Dog test! This means an AKC FDC title can be achieved in one day!! The FDC test is on S...aturday May 22! Open to all breeds of dogs, this test involves your dog performing a series of 12 exercises that are typical for a farm environment such as being in close proximity to livestock (who are always penned to avoid any altercations); jumping and staying on hay/straw bales; walking on unusual terrain; and hearing farm noises! There is no herding involved. Instead, the goal is to assess his aptitude as a working farm dog by exhibiting self-control, confidence and trust with you or his handler. 716 Barn Hunt League activities 3-37-21

Great day at Harmony yesterday with the 716 Barn Hunt League on their second league fun day! Judge Holly Nagle put together two wonderful training games for all to try. Loved having everyone here. Pre-Thanksgiving NEWS!!! So proud of my two Australian Terriers who went to Springfiled, MA this last weekend to AKC shows. Both Leena and her puppy, Elvis won both Best of Winners and Winners Bitch/Dog - both receiving pts under judges Dana Cline and Gale Young. Leena and Elvis received their first majors - 4 pts each, plus additinal 2 pts on Friday. Love both these dogs. Elvis - out of Leena's first litter, (Reimin Cream Cracker x GCH Redhawk Steadfast N' True) is a ...wonderfully happy, and structurally appropriate litter. Elvis did a great job under the tootalige of handler/co-owner Heather Rife. A great Thanksgiving present. Pictures in order. New Family Manners Obedience Class starting on Monday, Nov. 2 at 6:30pm. The class will be a 7 week program covering the basic family manners - sit, down, jumping up, stay, leave it, come and more! There will be Breed Handling Class on Saturday morning at 9:30am. If it's bad weather we will be inside. I hope you can come. There WILL BE dog shows sometime in 2021 - I believe. So let's keep practicing - with or w/o masks - keep your dog in shape and having fun - and giving you some time to practice. If you have young dogs - this is the best time to get out and practice. COVID sensitivity is always present here at Harmony. Masks should be worn and distancing is key. See you on Saturday.
