Harmony Martial Arts & Fitness

Recently seven members of our dojo competed in the annual Genbu-Kai International Goodwill Championships. Usually this prestigious martial arts tournament is held in California, but this year due to Covid-19 it was held virtually. The tournament featured several events, including kata (forms), kobudo (weapons), and batto-do (Japanese sword). Each competitor had to make and submit videos for each division they signed up to compete in. Then this past weekend the divisions w...ere judged and placements were awarded online. Our dojo fared quite well in the tournament, especially considering that it was the very first time that most of our team competed. We collectively took home four 1st place finishes, one 2nd place finish and one 3rd place finish. It was a good experience for all and we hope to have the opportunity to represent our dojo and Genbu-Kai in future competitions.
