Hello everyone! During these times we know it may be hard to build motivation to do certain things since the majority of us are in our homes for a large portion of the day. So we made some challenges that are going to be updated each week to help you adjust to this new at home lifestyle! We hope that you take these on and highlight your progress each day with us here on Facebook or on Instagram using the hashtag #hecschallenge In moments where you feel like you can't do muc...h, or that there isn't anything you can do - its best to remind yourself to do what you can! We know it can get hard spending most of your time indoors, so lets all make the best of it together! We can't wait to see your progress!

Did you know that Harriet Eisman has it's very own literary magazine? Last year a group of our students started producing a magazine in a class taught by our very own Danielle Bertoli ! Though with elements of her past classes this one had a little twist - that being all students had the opportunity to show their individual quirks and talents partnered with their writing in a magazine for the entire school to not only enjoy but partake in titled "The Other Side" Since then "...The Other Side" had taken the form a club publishing seasonal versions of the magazine such as the Halloween issue "The Spooky Side" with many works of art our students wanted to share among our little family! And now "The Other Side" is back! In digital form! We invite all past and current, students, staff, and alumni to take part in the next issue of our literary magazine! We accept submissions from writing to art pieces, even photography and would love to have your work published alongside many other of our little family members! If Interested DM us or email [email protected] to get invoved! Here is a prompt to get the creativity flowing! Best of luck to all of you! "Years from now, people will read about this specific time as an important part of the world’s history. That means students will study this in school! Write a history book entry about this period in history. How does it end? Write your ideal ending! What changes in society were a result of this stretch of time? How does it usher in the next period of history?"

Dear HECS Family, During these times though we are closed we wish all of our students and staff members well! We hope to come back better than ever before, once we are given the green light to start our classes again! We have been hosting Zoom chats and plan on expanding and adapting further into the at home schooling lifestyle for those who are interested in joining writing workshops and a potential book club, aside from their online class work!... If interested DM us and we can get you involved! We miss and hope to see all of our little family members very soon! Stay healthy!
