Thanks to special permission from publishers Penguin Random House, Shannon reads Hoot and Peep A Song for Snow by Lita Judge. This is a sweet story about young owls and the joyful and magical experience of a first snow. Shannon encourages you to talk to your children about how different the world looks with snow, and ask them what their favorite thing about snow is...and their least favorite thing. Encourage them to describe snow (the color, the sparkle, the smell in the air, the feel of it--encourage using all their senses, if safe and possible). Enjoy the weather and Happy Nearly New Year!

Have you peeked outside recently, Otego? The snow started coming down pretty heavily a little while ago! Remember, even if you have an appointment to pick up books today, if the weather is worrisome I will gladly hold your books for you until you feel you can get them -- we'll just change your appointment day and/or time. We're flexible and want you to be comfortable and safe.
