One piece of equipment that falls into the low frequency-high risk category is our High Pressure Air Bags. Often associated with motor vehicle incidents, they also serve other purposes such as collapse rescue. Here we simulated a FF trapped under a heavy object, but this scenario can play out in construction sites, which we have plenty of right now. Sometimes we have to get creative in both our training scenarios and solutions, even if it means not going by the textbook. #firefighter #highpressureairbags #firehouse #training #iaff
Took advantage of the rare 50 temperatures today and did a little rope work.
Thank you to the Palmioto family for sending breakfast over to the crew today.
This morning as of 7am was Firefighter Donald Dearborn’s last shift. He has dedicated 24+ years to the Harrison Professional Firefighters’s and the residents of the Town of Harrison. Donny it’s been an honor working with you. You will be missed. Enjoy retirement brother!!
On behalf of @iaff_local_2245 and @harrisonstrength we would like to say THANK YOU to all who donated toys to our @stvincentswestchester Toy Drive this year. This has become an annual tradition and every year we collect more toys than the previous. 2020 has been tough for so many, especially the less fortunate and through your support we are able to bring them some joy this holiday season!
Solid work by Eastchester Professional Firefighters. Proper equipment and training pays off!
A buried hydrant is a useless hydrant. Please make sure you shovel your hydrants out. Today’s on duty crew was made aware of this hydrant and quickly responded out and took care of it. #harrisonprofessionalfirefighters #IAFF2245 #profesionalfirefighter #hydrant #snow #buried #professionalfirefighters #e13
A friendly reminder with the upcoming storm, please keep your fire hydrants clear of snow. In the case we need to them, it not only helps us find them but also makes hooking up to them much easier. This is safer for us AND you! Thanks in advance and stay safe!
Looks like we are going to need a bigger box!! Thank you to everyone who has donated and just a reminder to anyone still interested... Along with HARRISON STRENGTH & FITNESS , we are collecting NEW, UNWRAPPED toys at downtown fire headquarters for the children of St Vincents Hospital. The last day to drop off is December 21st. Happy holidays!!
When it’s a beautiful day in December you take the opportunity to be outside. The crew put Engine 13 through a little workout today!!!! #harrisonprofessionalfirefighters #harrison #fire #seagrave #professionalfirefighter #engine #engine13 #flowing #professionallystaffed24/7/365
