Hastings PD introduces the first police outfitted Tesla Model Y in the US!! The Hastings PD took delivery of a brand new Tesla Model Y today! It will serves as the police car assigned to the Detective Division. This is the first Model Y that has been outfitted with lights, sirens and radio for police use - in the whole country (maybe even the world!)... Keep an eye out for our new ride! #tesla #teslamodely

Police Reform Committee Public Forum

UNLOCKED CARS ENTERED OVERNIGHT Similar to previous incidents, more than 10 vehicles (that we know of) in Hastings were entered overnight. All of the reported vehicles thus far had been left UNLOCKED. We, at the Hastings PD do our absolute best during our patrol to prevent these situations. But we need YOUR help! ... Simply said, LOCK YOUR CARS!! The perpetrators in these break-ins are not breaking windows or causing damage to the cars. They are stealthily walking around your neighborhood and indiscriminately pulling car door handles until they find one which is unlocked. Please help us and yourselves in preventing these crimes from happening. Remove all valuable items from your cars - and please, LOCK YOUR CARS.
