Thomas Serrano, President of Havas Events NA, wrote a tribute to Aretha Franklin from his time working with the artist on a special project. "I decided to pay tribute to Aretha Franklin through some personal anecdotes. As I was in her room - listening to her rehearsing some songs wit her CD player - and asking me for my opinion (really - who am I to tell her anything ! it was an unreal moment to be honest) - I took my chance and asked her against the will of her producer if s...he would accept for the last song (New York- New York) to have all the young singers from the previous performance to join her on stage and finish singing the song with her. She said immediately yes and it was quite obvious that she was happy to do so and I did thank her for that at that moment - telling her that those up comic talents will be thrilled when I tell them at the next rehearsal. I was then happy to report the news to her producer who asked me nicely to ask her again next time I will have a conversation with her, so I did and got immediately the same yes again. Happy to report the news to her producer again, he told me that maybe my accent and or my english was an obstacle and could not believe me. Believe me, it did happen, she understood well the first time, it was so kind and generous of her - everyone on stage was so enthusiastic and it made everyone’s day on stage, back stage and in the room. Our Eating & Innovation themed dinner this past Tuesday in Pittsburgh was a success! Guests had the opportunity to interact in a collective dining experience with food design by In The Mouth The evening’s dinner was created with some of the latest algorithms and artificial intelligence, each proposing different ways to think about food and food systems. This event was one of a kind, meaningful and memorable and we couldn’t think of a better venue to host this dinner than the The Andy Warhol Museum
