Affinity 1040. 2020. . . . New abstract series.
Today , we’re thinking about vibes. What your vibe? Here are some works from Linda Stein’s Mood Portraits collection. #jilllafer #flokennedy #billiejeanking
Today’s throwback is apart of Linda Stein’s Calligraphic Constructions series from 1970’s-1980’s. Merging her attraction to material and the malleable with a past in the calligraphy service, this series reminds us of something subtle and nuanced - Yet also something organic, weighted and present. Food for thought...
Here’s a look back on Linda Stein’s collage, Blade Self Portrait 483. Sometimes, art has an amazing ability to revert its audiences’ focus inward... relying on a relationship in which both the creator and consumer play an active role in forming the creative thing we call art. With that in mind, how do you reflect? How does that compare to those around you?
993" by Linda Stein . . . .... Artist Linda Stein often transcends the binary of protector and defender while illustrating the fluidity between masculine and feminine - concepts that shape the manufactured dichotomy. Everyday we experience other systemic and cultural bounds which place white male bodies in positions of power while placing others, specifically black and queer bodies, in positions under oppression. Using art as a medium to break from these destructive ideals, to diversify the narratives we hear, and to promote progressive re-structuring of systems which can reshape our society - we hope to show that the future can be better. Today, we ask you to use your art and voice to uplift others. Today, and everyday, we ask you to be an upstander. See more
Three Knights 505" Graphite & Conte Crayon 11 x 8.5 . .... . Linda Stein's work often encapsulates the questions surrounding societal corporeal restraints. At HAWT! we strive to liberate the mind and body from these oppressive ideals. Furthermore, we strive to use art as a medium to eliminate the other and uplift each other. We ardently stand with the Black Lives Matter Movement across the globe and offer our words and art as catalysts for cultural change. Keep fighting!
