Hawthorne Fire Department

Ok so in case you haven’t heard it’s going to snow a little bit theses next few days... ok it’s going to snow a lot (or so they say)... please help us help you by digging out the fire hydrants in and around your property. In an emergency seconds count and a clear hydrant saves us critical time during a fire. Please stay off the roads for the duration of the storm, don’t pile snow from your property on to town streets and treat all down power lines as if they are live. As always we are here for you but hope to not see you! Stay safe!

Last night at approximately 10 pm Car 2191, 2192, E155, L56, E154 and 63-B2 we dispatched to the 400 Block of Marietta Ave for a reported house fire. Upon arrival of Car 2191 heavy smoke was pushing out of the front door of the house. 2191 requested a retone for additional manpower for a working fire. Crews located a dryer fire in the rear of the house. Crews extinguished the fire with an 1 3/4 handline from E155 then checked for further extension to the home.
