H.C. Smith Benefit Club

Today (wednesday) Mom and I spent the whole day going to appointments in Albany! We started with repeat Pulmonary Function tests (PFT’s) then met with Dr. Porkc...hop and then went back to pulmonology to meet with him to review the results. This was an appointment that mom and I were really looking forward to because we were seeing Dr. Boris Shkolnik . Amit Chopra, Boris as well as Dan Wyman were on the team in the MICU that made drastic decisions and changes to my care plan that ultimately saved my life! forever thankful for this amazing team!!!! He was very happy with my improvement considering the last time he saw me I was breathing via a ventilator!!! my function tests showed that the improvement is LITERALLY unbelievable! He did say that I definitely still have obstructions in my air way due to the graft versus host disease, but he is hopeful it will continue to improve! He wants to follow up in three.whole.months! I also am proud to say that yesterday I finished my first semester of the Child Life program at Utica College.. I wouldn’t have been able to do this without the love and support of all of you! Trying not to be too positive considering We did learn of some sad news among our cancer community which has now become a family...and at this time we ask for prayers for the family of a dear friend of mine who sadly lost her battle with this monster! #AlyssaStrong
