Update Protocol regarding worship 1. Everyone will be entering the church via the front door narthex. They will be greeted by a ‘welcoming greeter/usher’ who will remind them that they must wear a mask at all times. A mask will be provided if they do not have one. Ushers will ask them if they have been ill recently or in contact with individuals who have been ill. Temperatures will be taken. If anyone responds affirmatively to the screening questions, they will be encour...aged not to attend the worship service. Those persons admitted to the building will be asked to use the hand sanitizer, and their attendance will be recorded on the attendance sheet. 2. Every other row will be used for seating families on the right side of the sanctuary. Individuals and couples will be seated on the left side of the sanctuary in marked spots on the pews, indicated by painters’ tape, which will respect the 6’ social distancing requirement. Family members may sit together in larger groups. The max capacity allowed will be 48 in the pews. The sanctuary capacity is 200. 3. Regarding air circulation, new high quality filters have been installed in the AC unit. The sanctuary has ceiling fans. Additional ventilation can be provided by opening the windows in the sanctuary. 4. Members entering or leaving the sanctuary, or while seated, will maintain 6’ social distance requirement at all times. 5. No singing of hymns or by the choir will occur during the service. 6. No Sunday School or Nursery School will be held. Children will stay with parents. 7. Following the service, everyone will exit via the door beside the pulpit and out into the parking lot as noted above. 8. No coffee hour will be held following the worship service. 9. Zoom worship will still be available. The capacity of the church sanctuary is 50 individuals (refer to seating plan- attachment B). If an individual refuses to cooperate with the above guidelines, that individual will be asked to leave; if they refuse to cooperate, the service will end at that time.

On August 1,2020 UMCHCS welcomed its new Pastor Barbara Whitlow. Pastor Whitlow is excited to be in ministry with the members of the church and the surrounding communities.
