It’s hard to believe, in this wacky year, that we should be in the middle of Oireachtas frenzy. This morning I woke up in my own bed but feeling like I should be in Hartford at the New England Oireachtas.. it really hit me this morning how much I’m missing my dance friends and how I can’t wait to see you all again when the world is a safe place. This coming Wednesday I should be checking in at the Philadelphia Marriot and seeing my favorite bellman (even tho they are all gre...at), Muhammad. Muhammad sees our trailer pull up to the front of the hotel and greets us with hugs and handshakes and how are you’s and then helps us unload everything into our vendor space. Sunday night would mean a celebratory dinner at Maggianos ... truly being thankful for all our blessings. The following week would bring us traveling to the Southern Region oireachtas .. the SRO is always held in a different location so making the journey is part of the adventure. This year, Thanksgiving dinner will be at my sister and brother-in-law’s home... a spectacular turkey dinner with all the trimmings... not the Marriott burger at midnight that I’ve become accustomed to. For the first time in 28 years, I’ll be spending Thanksgiving with my family but a little part of me wants to be with my dance family ... even with all the changes, I’ll still be counting my blessings and praying for better days to come... for everyone Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas.. please stay safe so we can continue to weather this storm and see the rainbow on the other side See more
