HALos (Help After Loss), Inc. receives $10,000.00 donation from Paul Family Foundation. Frank and Bette Paul dedicated their lives doing philanthropy work. Through the Paul Family Foundation their children continue to pass on their legacy. Their daughter, Rebecca Komorowski, chose HALos to receive the 2020 Foundation award because she believed her parents would have seen tremendous value in this local organization. HALos’ prides itself on providing services that include a... variety of traumatic events affecting grieving children and their families. Prior to the pandemic HALos purchased the old Afton Great American. After many hours of demolition, grant writing and extensive fundraising; renovations are now underway. The HUB as we are naming it, will provide the community with energy efficient commercial rental space, a convenient community meeting space, a sensory room and HALos office. The rental space will not only provide the community with an opportunity for economic growth but it will allow the HUB to become self-sufficient. HALos will continue to write grants, fundraise and seek donation to complete the next phase of construction. The community room will serve as a place of learning, tutoring, trainings, meetings, HALos events and for the use of specialized groups within the community. The sensory room will serve as a calming environment for grieving individuals (currently enrolled in HALos programming and others living within the community) to work through their emotions and reactions to their trauma/loss. HALos office space will serve as a meeting place for grieving individuals of all ages to do established Grief Recovery and HALos programming plus provide individuals with appropriate resources and referrals. On behalf of HALos’ I want to express my sincere gratitude for Foundations like the Paul Family Foundation, individuals that have participated in our fundraising efforts and businesses that have generously donated. Without each of you HALos wouldn’t have been able to have raised the necessary funds for this phase of construction.
