Friendly, loving PSA please, please do not leave donations when we are closed. There is no one here to receive them and if the weather turns bad they will get wet and we will have to throw them out. Or people will come and go through them and make a mess which we do not like either. We are so grateful to receive donations during our donation hours. If you are unable to come during those times please call our office during business hours or message us on Facebook and we will ...arrange a suitable time for your donation. We are also no longer receiving winter items. We are doing a Spring Clothing Drive now. Thank you so much for your support!

Thank you local Long Island photographer, videographer, makeup artist, Sam Ruh for gifting us this beautiful, informational video to share with our community. OUR MISSION As a witness to the love of God, the Helping Hand Rescue Mission seeks to improve the spiritual and temporal conditions of the children, families and people of the communities that we serve by providing excellent service to all who come, whether they be rich or poor, high or low social status. We are here to love, to serve and to give.

TEN DOLLARS FOR TURKEY SEASON! Help us make sure every family in Huntington has a wonderful Thanksgiving meal! Everyone deserves to have warmth, family, fun, and GREAT FOOD on Thanksgiving. $10 on the 10th helps Helping Hand Rescue Mission offset the cost of Thanksgiving boxes for our community and keeps our doors open so they can come to us for help as the weather gets colder. In this season of gratitude, will you help us pour provision into our community?... Thank you for your continued, constant, wonderful help and support. www.hhrm.org

A little quiet today in my heart. It would've been my precious mom's (Rev. Rose Marie Gaines) 84th birthday and she's celebrating in heaven! Nothing brought me more joy than serving at HHRM beside her for the last 10 years of her life. I grew up in the mission literally from birth to my late teen years. Being here was just part of our life as a family. In my younger years I really didn't expect that I would be doing what I'm doing now but I'm thankful for God's plan and the... way that He works all things together for good even though sometimes we may go through some very hard times to get to that good. Happy birthday in heaven Mama! you are loved and missed more than you would ever know. I bet you would've loved "Fill A Box Feed A Family" for Thanksgiving. I learned from my mom to take lots of pictures and hug your loved ones every day. You never know when that picture might be the last one. She used to say, Take a picture. someday you'll be glad that you did." I'm a little partial to this one staticky hair and all:) Thank you God for giving me the most amazing mother.

Lariane and Joan were so busy yesterday and really worked hard packing up 20 big cartons of fresh produce, eggs, fruit and fresh foods brought to us by Martine McDonald from Target. Everyone who came yesterday received a beautiful bag of fresh produce, Panera or Stew Leonard's bread and meat donated by St. Peters' Lutheran of Huntington Station along with their non-perishable pantry bag. Marianna was busy all day registering families for Thanksgiving Food Boxes and turkeys, ...families were coming in to pick up more empty boxes to fill for Thanksgiving. (We have <200 needed to meet our goal:) Drew and Christian unloaded cases of food that we purchased from Lidl last week from our storage pod and packed food parcels for tomorrow's distribution. John sorted new food donations in the food pantry. EVERYONE WAS BUSY. Melissa and Kedi were hanging coats for almost 4 hours straight. Men, women and children, young and old found their way to the outdoor coat racks to find a nice coat to keep them warm. The quality of the winter coats this year has been exceptional. People have given beautiful gently used, freshly laundered coats and many have given BRAND NEW COATS!!! Some have come from by Amazon, Macys and online shops. THANK YOU! WE HAVE EXTENDED OUR COAT DRIVE THROUGH THANKSGIVING. THE NEED IS GREAT. THANK YOU. We're thankful to God that each day we are prepared to meet the needs again and we are grateful to be here today. When the people come and say "I need...food, coats, help" we can say "yes" we can help you. Thanks to EVERYONE who is making our mission through these days that require a little extra FAITH and ENDURANCE. The reward is in meeting the needs of those who come and sharing love and encouragement with them. We are moving forward each day, trusting and working as we go. Next stop...Thanksgiving!!!!
